When Healing is Hard

Hey Sis,

There will be moments on your healing journey when everything in you wants to give up. You’ll wonder if healing is even possible for someone like you. You’ll question if you have the strength to keep moving forward.

And honestly? You’ll feel exhausted—mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

I want you to know this: those feelings are normal.
If facing the pain of the past were easy, everyone would do it. But healing takes a special kind of courage. It demands honesty. Vulnerability. Strength you didn’t even know you had.
Healing asks you to stand in your truth when your heart would rather run and hide. On the days when you want to throw in the towel, pause and ask yourself:

"Why did I begin this journey?"

Let your why carry you when your emotions want to stop you.
Maybe your why is your children.
Maybe it's reclaiming the life the enemy tried to steal.
Maybe it's because you are tired of living half-alive.

Whatever your reason — it matters. And it's bigger than your current pain.

I remember seasons when my own past tried to crush me — the memories of abusive relationships, the trauma of childhood sexual abuse, the heartbreaks and disappointments that seemed to pile higher than I could climb.

Some days the emotions felt overwhelming, like tidal waves threatening to pull me under. But here's what I learned:
Feelings are real, but they are not forever.
Pain, when acknowledged and surrendered, begins to lose its power. The moments of hurt that resurfaced weren’t trying to destroy me—they were waiting for me to finally see them, name them, and release them into God’s healing hands.

You might not feel ready to release your emotions today—and that's okay.

Healing isn’t a race.
Healing is a becoming.

One day, you’ll look back and see how far you've come.
You’ll realize you survived what you once thought would break you.
And you’ll stand—victorious, whole, and free—because you refused to give up.

So Sis, if today is hard, know this:
You’re not behind. You’re becoming.
And God is right there, walking every painful, beautiful step with you. You are braver than you feel today.
And the story He is writing in you is far from over.
